Throughout the film we are stood with Evan in every step, where his driven mind does justice.Ĭomplimenting the wonderful characters and original story, is of course the beautiful music. His focus in music and powerful stigma in literally feeling the notes is obtained in a way that captures a hopeful mood. His soft smile and warm eyes are absorbed, where we truly feel for his emptiness. His talent in mass instruments, reading notes, controlling Evan strumming awayĪn orchestra at the age of 11, is extortionate! Evan (Freddie Highmore) simply is a special child. Lyla focused on her ChelloĮvans belief in music is phenomenal. Counting the days, hours, seconds, nothing can stop her from reaching her loved ones. Similar to Evan and Louis, she knows for sure she has a child, somewhere out there in the big world. The love she has for Louis is evident in her pacifying eyes and her sixth sense is extremely powerful. Light heartedly and with full focus she continues with her talent, playing the Chello in front of elite mass audiences, hence satisfying her father. Likewise, Lyla Novacek (Keri Russell), the famous cellist in an orchestra group, portrays an innocent, decent persona. Louis and Evan focused on their guitar beats We sit on the edges of our seats, fingers clenched, wanting to acknowledge them with the truth. Both solely in sync with the guitar jam, they don’t realise what they’re seeking for is right in front of them. The scene where Louis is literally face to face with his son, Evan, is unforgettable. His warm facial expressions and ‘cool’ appearance is engaging, where we admire his soft persona. His talent in singing and playing the guitar is astonishing, where the music is transparent in his eyes. Louis’s (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) focus on finding his true love is belittled by his brother’s band. With a powerful story, the cast beautifully compliments their roles. Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Louis in August Rush From playing on the streets, Evan gets lost in his music, where his journey leads him to successfully featuring in ‘Juliards Arts’ official concert. Following Arthur home, they soon become friends where Music Manager ‘Maxwell’ or as they would like to call him ‘Wizard’ (Robin Williams), identifies his musical talents and adopts interest in the dollars he could make. Meeting a fellow young musician ‘Arthur’ (Leon Thomas), he gets amused by the instrument, where the strums lure him in. Evan lost in the musicĪfter escaping from the adoption agency, Evan finds himself a home on the streets. Unnecessary obstacles seem to grow further between them, where only one person can unite this loosened lace. Their relationship is so strong, that we are eager for them to get back together. Though Lyla’s strict Father and Louis’s pestering Brother, sees past their true love, resulting in separate journeys. Their instant connection is encountered, where we feel they are made for each other. Louis and Lyla, the foremost perfect couple first meet on a roof, where the sound of a strum unites them. But the music does her justice, where her inside feelings tell otherwise. From separating Lyla from her child at birth, she is forced to believe she has no son. We are truly taken on a magnificent fairy tale of three beautiful lives, but more than that, a beautiful family. Evan uses his ultimate musical gift to connect with his parents. The film follows the story of Evan Taylor who’s in search for his long lost parents Louis and Lyla. That’s what August Rush does to you…Īugust Rush simply was a sweet breath of fresh air and an extraordinary film. When you watch a film and just smile the whole way through, it’s an amazing feeling. “The music is all around us…all you have to do is listen” – Evan
